I continue to find great inspiration and joy in photography, and 2026 has been especially fruitful. I am so grateful for that passion. There have been so many big changes in my life in the dreadful gulf of time between this update and the last one, and 2025 was especially hard because my mother’s house burned down and my younger brother passed away.

I was determined to pursue creative things with more consistency and enthusiasm than I had been, and to regain some of my vision in terms of seeing the world from an artistic perspective. To encourage me, a friend very generously gave me the lovely birthday present of tuition for a part-time course at the School of Photographic Arts in Ottawa. This summer I took part in an eight-week regional road trip class where we visited different places in and around Ottawa every Sunday morning, to tackle different subjects in these environments.
