I wanted to warn you of possible downtime for this site (http://shutterbuggery.ca) and my main site (http://rbfairchild.com) due to an imminent switch of domain name registrars and hosts.  You see, for many years I relied on godaddy.com for all my website needs.  Despite my increasing moral discomfort with their sexist advertising and elephant snuff fetish, there was a bit of inertia with having so many domains registered there that was hard to overcome.

With the recent call to boycott godaddy due to their support of the USA anti-piracy SOPA bill, I decided that I just couldn’t continue to feel unhappy and disappointed while doing nothing to express my displeasure. So I’m switching away.  Once I’ve settled on a new DNS and host, I’ll make the switcher.  This will likely result in some brief lack of functioning.  Many apologies, but I will try to make it as painless as possible.

Meanwhile, cheers! And get back to doing wonderful things with your family and friends this holiday season.

Me, I’m stuck at work (for justice never rests), but all this gainful employment is putting me in the mood to buy myself a new camera at some point soon.  I love my Canon EOS 40D, but I’m thinking about making the move to a full-frame camera. I’ll let you know more about that when the time comes.
