Having set up a photography website for myself, I think it’s only fair to tell you a bit about who I am and why I am here. To start, I don’t know whether I would really call myself “a photographer.” I am certainly a jerk who runs around taking photos with an expensive camera, but even in this crazy modern world I am uncertain that this is enough. To be sure, I’ve sold some prints (to people who do not know me), and I’ve had my photos printed in various articles, websites, and even a forthcoming book (not by me), but this may or may not meet your standards.
All that being said, I really wanted to begin expanding my portfolio and promoting my work. I love seeing the world through a camera — I began by shooting with film in the 1990s and early 2000s with a film SLR, and learned the fundamentals of exposure back when you had to wait a week to see how your photographs turned out. After completing my first degree and commencing a second degree (in a professional field), I had to step back from using my camera regularly owing to highly depleted levels of both spare time and money, but I bought my trusty Canon 40D a few years ago — along with some great lenses — and rediscovered my passion.
My main areas of photographic interest are portraits, candids, macros, landscapes, product/editorial photography, and street photography. I am available for hire, and my prints are for sale.
I refuse to refer to camera lenses as “glass.”
What a fantastic idea, Rob!! I love how everything has been put together. Lawyering for a hobby, eh?
